Job Opportunity: Senior Policy Officer – Australian Embassy Myanmar

The Australian Embassy in Yangon is seeking an experienced Senior Policy Officer (LE6) to join its Political and Economic Section.

The role focuses on political, governance, security, and human rights analysis in Myanmar, providing strategic policy advice to support Australian Government decision-making. The position also involves high-level stakeholder engagement, policy research, reporting, negotiations, and supervision of staff.

Key Requirements

• Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or significant related work experience
• Excellent Burmese and English communication skills
• Strong knowledge of Myanmar politics and media
• Experience in policy analysis, research, briefing, and report writing
• Strong stakeholder engagement and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and handle sensitive information confidentially
